class details
This Torah Study is our foundational course led by founder Liana Wertman. It’s an opportunity to learn, refresh, and deepen the skills of Torah study to guide you in this class and beyond. And we do it one Torah portion at a time.
Each class is meant for all levels of learners and thrives when we each bring our own unique experiences and voice to the zoom. In partnered learning, you and one or two partners will dive into a piece of text, followed by a large group discussion to find even more ways to connect with the texts.
Give yourself the gift of learning not only with an incredible community, but also in the ancient learning cycle of our people. This kind of learning only gets better with practice, and we’ve created this space exactly to help you do that.
ABOUT THE TEACHER
Liana is the Founder of the Torah Studio. She first fell in love with Torah at the Shabbat dinner table, hearing and discussing the stories with her family. She now spends summers at the Brandeis Collegiate institute (BCI) as a Beit Midrash educator and created their newest 10 Day Program. She has learned at Pardes and Yashrut, and was an inaugural fellow of the SVARA Pedagogy Chaburah. Currently, Liana runs The Torah Studio from her home in Los Angeles, where you can also find her making pottery, creating art with yarn, or getting ready for Shabbat.
Our classes include Hevruta/Partnered Learning time to allow you to engage and go deep into a Torah text on your own, followed by a large group discussion to find even more ways to connect with the texts.
